Hi
With the pro version I'm trying to style the widget to match my own styles. So to do this do I add my existing widget styling to the template(s) in use and then add those css files to my theme file? I've tried this but not working just yet. See the following widget at bottom of sidebar for example:
http://bit.ly/sX7Gbv
Thanks
Hi Scot! Please open a new thread at the Associated Posts Pro Forum.
Hi Dennis,
I've been using your plugin for some time now...very satisfied; however, today tried to add another page with exact same settings as prior pages where I have the Post Page Associator working....and I can't figure out why I can't get my posts to the city page to show up.
For example, http://www.localjobs.com/blog/cities/charlotte-jobs-news/ works fine.
But, http://www.localjobs.com/blog/cities/austin-job-news/ does not. I can't get posts that I've tagged with city = 'Austin' to show up here.
I'm adding this page about 6 months since my last page add and can't figure out why one works (my older pages) and this newer one isn't. Seems in the past, there was Post Associator settings, such as 'select associated tags', authors, categories when setting up the page ..... but none of that seems to be there on the new pages. Am I going crazy?
Tried DEACTIVATING and then REACTIVATING...but no luck.
Thanks,
Brian
Hi Brian, unfortunately I do not know why it is not working on this page. But you can hire for consulting and I will find the issue!
I have the free version and am thinking of upgrading. For some reason my pages that use this plugin reverts my pages meta description to the description of the latest post.
Is there a way to input my own meta description?
Post Page Associator has no "meta description" field you could fill out!?
I have meta description fields in my pages. But the description field does not seem to work for the pages that use post page associator.
These pages instead are coming up in google with the description for the top post. No one else has this problem?
Sounds like a Bug in the plugin you use for composing the meta description.
I have looked at the source code for my site, and it appears that the meta description from Post Page Associator is showing up prior to my normal meta description.
That must be why it is overriding it. With the pro version, could I disable the meta description for Post Page Associator?
Jim
BTW: Here is a page that has the problem. http://fruittreestudios.com/erie-wedding-videographer/
Hallo Dennis, would be possible to attach pages to pages?
Thanks
Hey Federica! In the Pro Version it is possible.
Hi there,
How do you swap templates in and out. The standard template isn't working very well in terms of how it aligns images with text. Ideally I need the thumbnail integrated more with the text. My CSS skills are okay but my PHP skills aren't up to much - any ideas?
Cheers
Fran
Hi Fran! It should work fine with every codex compliant. If you need help please with styling the posts mail me and I will give you a quote.
Hallo Dennis,
works like a charm!
One question though, wenn I make a post I give it the catagorie so it shows up on the specific page. Works!
But is also shows up on the home page.
Is it possible it shows only on the (catagorie) page and not on the homepage?
The PPA does not exclude any posts anywhere.
Hi,
Your plugin was working ok across a number of my sites but now its seems to very buggy. I notice a number of other people are also experiencing issues.
The problem with mine is thats doing a combination of losing the selected posts on some sites. But on one site its switching what posts were selected to the posts which are attached to the homepage. Really weird!
I don't know which other plugin its not playing very nicely with. I was having issues with 'All in one SEO' losing information on posts only but thats now sorted maybe thats the one thats conflicting. The other plugin which has always had issues with posts is called 'graceful sidebar'.
Are there any planned fixes coming out for this plugin?
Thanks,
David
Which version do you use? Did you update it recently?
Your plugin was working fine now it doesn't work at all. I check a category to associate to a page then update but when you go back to the page in the admin panel the category is unselected again. Please help.
Hi Phillip, this sounds like an incompatibility with another plugin. Let me know if you find the evildoer.
Hi Dennis,
I have found there is a conflict between your post-page associator and this plugin:
http://simple-press.com/
Is there a way around this, so I can sue them both?
Thanks, Derek
Hi Derek, I know about this incompatibility and I will fix it as soon as possible.
I am only the Irresistable theme. And I added your plug in. I was super excited about starting to use it but it is not working. I choose the categories on the individual pages but it's not showing them. It is still only showing the post under one page. I tried to go to the admin settings like you discussed in another post but it doesn't have that option. Does your plug in not work with this theme?
Hey Andrea! The plugin should work with every codex complaint theme.
Please be sure you selected "Add to my selection..." as selection mode for the pages where you want to display the associated posts.
Hello, I love your plug-in but am having problems with it now. I can't modify any of the settings besides the ones listed about the position in settings. The box that used to show up on the pages that enables me to "Add to my selection: All posts which are at least in one of these categories" does not show up anymore. It only shows the ad for the Pro version on the edit posts pages. Where did it go? I am new to WP, what am I doing wrong?
In the free version there is no association meta box available for posts.
Hi Dennis,
Love your plugin! I have a problem, the posts show up twice on my page, once as complete posts the way I set it and at the bottom (right above the footer) they appear with little thumbnails. How do I get rid of those?
Sounds like a problem with the "the_content" filter. Could be a problem with your theme. Is is possible to have a look at it?
