Dennis, is there a way to "embed" this widget into the html of a wordpress page? I ask because I am setting up a photo gallery page where the widget, rather than in a sidebar, would be on the physical page. This sub-page navigation is PERFECT for photo gallery sub-pages. I just don't know how to make it work correctly as I am new to Wordpress. If this is not possible, is there any other way to add sub-page-navigation to the main "page" that shows the child links without having to manually add NAME

Yes, just like the default pages widget. I used the same class names.

Yes, if there are no child pages the widget shows the “siblings” pages. And if there is a parent page the widget adds the link to the parent page at the end of the sub pages list (can be disabled).

Hey Dennis,

It seems I spoke too soon. The sub pages show up fine for a parent page with sub pages but on the other pages all parent pages show.

If I enter the parent page IDs into the Exclude list they disappear but the sub pages that I haven’t entered IDs for show up.

I have to have at least one parent page ID not in the Exclude list for the sub pages not to show.

Am I doing something wrong or does there need to be an upgrade for WP3?

No, thats not the task of the widget. Please look here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/register_sidebar. If you register your sidebar correctly every widget should have the right css class.

Thank you for a great little plugin!

Just one thing, could you possibly wrap your widget code output with a DIV tag with an identifier class tag (e.g. widget code) or something. this way we have even ingrained control over how we style the listed pages.

I did it myself by modifying your code, but it will likely break with a future update.

I think it would make the plugin even more versatile than it already is.

Finally! I’ve been looking everywhere for this plug-in. All other sun-navigation widgets seem to display ALL sub-pages not just the sub-sub-pages. Thank you!

Hi Todd, sorry but “functionality is broken” is not an error description. I currently tested it and it works fine. Btw: The Plugin isn’t a breadcrumb plugin.

thanks for this!

it appears to me that the hide|show parent link functionality is broken. switching the setting, and even commenting out the “if” part of the parent link in the code, i can’t manage to get the parent to show as a link.

Yes. This is right. I thought it were a feature. Now i have added an option so you can make the widget to show always your typed title. (Since Version 1.0.1).

The title I type in the widget doesn’t show. Instead the title of the parent page shows.
